Halloween 2010

They’ve carved pumpkins. They’ve created costumes. And later today, they will be at your door demanding tricks or treats, but really just hoping for the latter.

This year’s Halloween in Verona included the time-honored elementary school parades and a new event: A pumpkin-carving contest for the middle-school crowd, run by Dana Visentin and the Verona Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Verona Municipal Alliance Committee. Nick Lanese, Cole Smith and Conner Silvia won in the 5th grade-6th grade event, but if you want to ace this event next year, we suggest that you strategize with the Nesto triplets: Alonna, Jenna and Brielle swept the 7th grade-8th grade category.

Enjoy your Trick-or-Treating today. Stay safe and be smart! And if you have Halloween photos of your own to share, send them to [email protected].
