Library Features Hildebrandt Family Art

During the months of May and June, the Verona Public Library will exhibit artwork by three members of the same family. Pieces by Boston-based visual artist Katrine Hildebrandt-Hussey will be on display alongside works by her parents, Verona residents Barbara and David Hildebrandt. The exhibit will include watercolor and acrylic paintings as well as mixed media compositions.

Katrine Hildebrandt-Hussey uses volatile processes, including burning paper, to create layered, geometric work. She says she is inspired by “sacred geometry and the metaphysical mapping of space and time.”

Barbara Hildebrandt is an art educator who looks to nature for inspiration. She states, “I am constantly searching for new line forms, patterns and textures hidden within and along the paths that I take.”

David Hildebrandt will feature mixed media works using cigar bands to feature “the art of the cigar.”

An artists’ open house and reception will be held on Sunday, May 5, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. by the gallery on the Library’s upper level. Light refreshments will be served.

Verona Public Library is located at 17 Gould Street. For more information, call 973-857-4848 or email [email protected].
