Girls Basketball Drops A Squeaker

The girls basketball team played Payne Tech high school on Tuesday, February 6. The girls had a very strong and close game. While Verona was up 20-16 at halftime, the game ended 39-38 Payne Tech.

Jada Bednar led her team, scoring 15 points for Verona. Right behind her was Cali Giacomazza scoring nine points and Morgan Rossi scoring five points. Bednar also led her team in rebounds with 15, and Gabby Egnezzo and Morgan Rossi with four steals each.

The girls basketball team is traveling to Newark East Side high school on Thursday, February 8, at 4 p.m., and then travels to Caldwell for a 4 p.m. game on Monday February 12.

Verona girls basketball is now 15-5 overall and 11-2 in conference.
