Verona will go to the polls on Tuesday, May 9, to fill two seats on the Town Council and if you’re interested in running, you can get a candidate packet now.

To request a candidate packet, fill out the form here: www.VeronaNJ.org/CandidateForms. You can also pick up a copy from the municipal clerk at Town Hall. Completed packets must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Monday, March 6.

To be a valid candidate, you have to have been a resident of Verona for at least a year as of May 9, 2023 and a registered voter here.

Verona has a non-partisan form of municipal government, so candidates do not run under a political party banner. A Town Council term is for four years. The terms of Mayor Alex Roman and Deputy Mayor Christine McGrath expire on June 30, 2023; neither has yet announced if they are running again.

MyVeronaNJ publishes profiles of every candidate in every election and interviews each with a series of common questions and questions specific to their platform. The profiles and interviews will be published when mail-in ballots are scheduled to arrive. MyVeronaNJ does not endorse candidates.
