On Saturday, October 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Essex County will be holding a hazardous waste collection day at the Bradford Avenue maintenance garage in Cedar Grove. This is for all the stuff you can’t throw out in the trash and can’t recycle at Commerce Court in Verona.

What to bring? Pesticides and herbicides, automotive fluids, gas and kerosene, paint thinners and solvents, household cleaning fluids, oil-based paints and stains, photographic chemicals, car and household batteries, chemistry sets, fire extinguishers, barbecue propane tanks, driveway sealers and pool chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs and ballasts, aerosol spray paints, and anything containing mercury. The list of what you can’t bring is here.
