Verona resident Alana Drost is inviting all area residents to come by the Verona Community Center Ballroom on Saturday, December 9, any time between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to make holiday cards. These cards will then be distributed personally by “Ally” and her “Elves” to seniors in assisted living and long-term care facilities.

The custom card-making afternoon will be a festive occasion with holiday music, a bake sale and a visit from Santa.

“Ally’s Elves is an inclusive community endeavor designed to spread holiday cheer by bringing individuals of all ages and abilities together in a common space, with a common goal,” says Jeananne Drost, Ally’s mom.

Drost has been creating custom holiday cards over the past several years with a small team of enthusiastic “Elves” at her home. Last year, the “Elves” took their passion to a new level and created a larger card making event, which was held at the Verona Community Center. This year, because of last year’s enthusiastic turnout, the event will move into the Ballroom at the Verona Community Center.

The cards have been received with such gratitude and have provided so much happiness that Drost and her team want to be able to include all area residents. In her words, “More cards mean more cheer!”

Drost and her support staff will supply everything necessary to create inspiring holiday cards. You don’t need to register in advance to participate; just simply show up.
