On Sunday, November 19 at 7 p.m., First Presbyterian Church of Verona will host the community’s annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service.

Clergy leaders from First Presbyterian Church of Verona, First Congregational Church of Verona, Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Islamic Center of Verona, the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit and B’nai Shalom West Orange will take part in the event. There will be scripture readings from Jewish, Islamic and Christian traditions, as well as music related to Thanksgiving with a joint choir from a few of the congregations.

This year the service’s theme is “The Gift of Our Hands” and will focus on the work we do for each other in the community. The Clergy Council will provide information on suggested humanitarian aid organizations doing work in Israel and Palestine.

After the service, light refreshments will be served in the church’s Chamberlain Hall. First Presbyterian Church of Verona is located at 10 Fairview Avenue, near the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue. There is a parking lot behind the church.
