Cecilia F. (nee Feeney) Collins died on Monday, July 24, 2023 at her home in Toms River, New Jersey, surrounded by her loving family.

Visiting will be held in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Ave., Verona on Wednesday, July 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Thursday at 10 a.m.

Born and raised in Montclair, she graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1949. She married Albert V. Collins in 1954 and they moved to Verona to raise their 4 children.

She worked as a secretary for Turning Point Alcohol Rehab Center and the Overbrook Hospital in Cedar Grove for many years, retiring in 1991. After retirement, Cecilia and Al moved to their “EZ Acres Farm” in Vermont, eventually returning to New Jersey to be closer to family in Toms River.

She was predeceased by husband, Albert V. Collins, Sr.; her parents, John & Catherine Feeney; her siblings John S. Feeney, Jr., James A. Feeney, Vincent P. Feeney, Raymond Feeney, Robert Feeney, Thomas Feeney, Joseph Feeney, Cynthia Collins, Kathleen Robertson and Maureen Messer.

Mrs. Collins is survived by her children, Karen Todaro, Kathy Owen, Albert V. Collins, Jr. (Denise), Caroline Rabelo (Luis); 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Verona Rescue Squad would be greatly appreciated.
