Mary Ann (Boyer) Wyrovsky, affectionately known by her grandchildren as Grammie, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2023.

Visiting will be in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Saturday, July 29 from 11 am to 1:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will follow at 2 pm in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 22 Lakeside Avenue, Verona.

Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on February 28, 1947, Mary Ann grew up in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. After her marriage and the birth of her first child, she moved to Verona, New Jersey, where she nurtured a loving home and family. Mary Ann was an empathetic soul, a spirited individual, and a loyal friend to all who knew her. Her warmth radiated throughout her community, and her steadfast love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. Her 51-year-long marriage to her husband, William, was a testament to her unyielding loyalty and commitment.

After graduating from Berkley College, Mary Ann worked as a personal secretary in New York, until she became a mother. After staying home to raise her five children, Mary Ann worked as a paraprofessional in education, where she used her loving nature and innate empathy to assist preschool students with disabilities. She was passionate about her work, and the connections and relationships she made there. In her spare time, Mary Ann found joy in entertaining family and friends, cooking delicious meals, gifting her crocheted items, traveling with her husband and friends, and keeping active and social through jazzercise.

Mary Ann’s faith was a significant part of her life. As a devout Catholic, she believed deeply in the power of prayer, living each day with grace, and bestowing love upon all. Her compassion for others was unparalleled, and her unwavering faith provided a strong foundation for her life. As we remember Mary Ann, we are reminded of the verse from Corinthians: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8). This verse encapsulates the essence of Mary Ann’s life – a life defined by unwavering love, kindness, and faith.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband, William ‘Bill’ Wyrovsky; her cherished children, William A. Wyrovsky (Kerry), Mark Wyrovsky (Erica), Lynn Leighbody (John), Susan Vail (David), Glen Wyrovsky and her adored grandchildren, William, Kathryn, Mark, Madeline and David. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Madeline Boyer.

We encourage those who knew and loved Mary Ann to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page. In this way, we can all celebrate and remember the remarkable life of Mary Ann Wyrovsky, a woman of love, loyalty, empathy, and spirit.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) would be greatly appreciated.

Condolences may be left on the “Remember Page’ at www.proutfuneralhome.com.
