Ian Zalewski came in first in the outdoor Ridge Twilight meet for the 1600 yesterday, and the Verona High School senior smashed the previous school record for the distance, set back in 2010.
Zalewski’s time was 4.11.40, almost four full seconds faster than the second place finisher and a personal record.
The previous VHS record was 4.15.66, set by Dave Oster.
