Track Takes 2nd, 3rd At SEC Championship

The Verona High School girls track & field track team took second in the Super Essex Conference Championships on Friday, May 13, while the boys team took third, with many great performances despite a very rainy day.

The following girls and boys gathered points in their events:

First Place Finishes:
Lauren Kobernick: 400m hurdles
Marguerite Valera: pole vault
Ian Zalewski: 1600m
Ian Zalewski: 3200m
Alec Hamson: pole vault

Second Place Finishes:
Lauren Kobernick: 100m high hurdles
Eleanor Newman: pole vault
Eleanor Battersby: 800m
Sophie Besante: high jump
Alec Hamson: 400m hurdles
Noah Hayden: long jump

Third Place Finishes:
Aimee Griffin: discus
Cara Ann DeMars: high jump
Lucia Grant: 400m hurdles
Connor Robinson: 400m hurdles

Fourth Place Finishes:
Alana Holton: long jump
Megan Gallagher: 400m hurdles
Abby Cleary: discus
4 x 400m Relay: Alana Holton, Lauren Kobernick, Megan Gallagher & Sarah Knoetig
Connor Robinson: 400m
Ian Zalewski: 800m
Evan Carlson: javelin
