If you’re a pet lover, you might want to get to know the new consignment shop in the center of town: It benefits the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter.
The forces behind the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter Consignment Shop had been working for the past 40 years from a location in Caldwell to benefit the Hospice of West Essex. But when that location was sold, the group went looking for a new sponsor and found it in the East Hanover-based animal shelter, which cares for homeless animals and helps them to be adopted.
The consignment shop, which doesn’t yet have a website or social media, thinks that 528 Bloomfield Avenue is a good location for their operation, since it is right across the street from Verona Park. It accepts a wide range of clothing, jewelry and accessories, as well as art and household goods, either on consignment or as donations.
The consignment hours are Mondays from noon to 2:45 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. It is open to shoppers on Monday from noon to 4 p.m. and on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
