To the Editor:

I am writing this letter in support of John Quattrocchi, who is a candidate for the Verona Township Council. I served with John for twelve years on the Verona Board of Education. In that time, I came to know him as a capable leader loyal to the cause and dedicated to getting the job done in the most efficient manner possible. Public office is a public trust and John epitomizes that principle

John and I were both elected to the Board of Education in 2003. It was a genuinely contested election, and as a result, my early working relationship with him on the Board was strained at best. Over the years, we had more than our share of heated discussions and other assorted differences of opinions. However, at no time did I ever doubt John’s honesty, integrity or single minded desire to do the right thing. You don’t ever have to guess where things stand with him. He will be very happy to tell you.

John’s time served on the Board of Education will allow him to hit the ground running and provide him with real hands on experience in getting difficult things done. During the years we served together, the district passed two major Bond Referenda greatly improving the physical infrastructure and overall educational landscape. It hired four young progressive Superintendents to lead the district, each contributing their own distinct creativity to enhance the academic environment.

The town is now faced with a number of important challenges which will greatly impact the long term future of our community as well as our personal quality of life. I believe John has the ability to meet those challenges, help find the most appropriate solutions, and provide the overall community with the best outcomes possible for our well being and peace of mind for years to come.

Thank you,
Joseph Bellino
