HolySpirit-Pantry-FullThe new Holy Spirit Food Pantry will be open on the fourth Saturday of every month, beginning April 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is open to anyone with a need and no questions (except for your zip code) will be asked. The Holy Spirit Food Pantry is located in the lower level of the church, 36 Gould Street, Verona. Shoppers may drop in on Saturday or contact the church office at 973-239-2850 or [email protected] in advance to arrange for a private pick up or drop off.

After Verona resident and Holy Spirit member Mary Garland announced the opening of the food pantry to the community in January, there was an outpouring of support. Thanks to the generosity of many local individuals and community groups, the Holy Spirit Food Pantry is now well stocked with non-perishable food items and toiletries that has been sorted, stacked, and is ready to give away.

“Life circumstances–the illness of a family member, the loss of a job–sometimes create times of need,” says the Reverend Jerry Racioppi, the rector at Holy Spirit Verona. “No one should have to go hungry.”

After the opening on April 23, the Holy Spirit Food Pantry will be open every fourth Saturday of the month. May 28 and June 25 are the next two days it will be open.

People are invited to call the church office with any questions about the Holy Spirit Food Pantry, 973-239-2850.

The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit is located at 36 Gould Street, Verona, directly across the street from the H. B. Whitehorne Field. It is an open, welcoming, and inclusive congregation.
