Recently, in conjunction with the Essex Fells Fire Department, the Verona Fire Department trained at a soon to be demolished home. This hands-on training environment allowed all personnel to improve and practice their skills in backpack mounted SCBA air management, water supply, primary and secondary search procedures, rescue, thermal imaging, fire attack, ventilation, forcible entry, ladder work, wall breaching, command, communication, safe practices and overhaul. No live fire training was provided.
The Verona Fire Department continually drills bi-monthly at locations around the township as well as the Fire Training Center located on Commerce Court.
