F.N. Brown elementary school is still closed due to lack of power. Students who normally go to F.N. Brown should report to Laning Avenue School from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drop off for these students begins at 10:45 a.m. There will once again be an optional bus for F.N. Brown students from the school parking lot to Laning at 10:45 a.m. Brown parents should pack a snack and lunch for their children.

Laning, Brookdale, Forest and H.B. Whitehorne Middle School will operate on a regular half-day schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. While the heat is working, the buildings may be a little chilly. Please have your children bring a sweatshirt.

Verona High School will operate a regular half-day schedule 7:55 a.m. to 12:08 p.m. VHS and HBW zero-period classes will go on as scheduled.

Laning preschool will operate on a regular half-day schedule. AM is 8:30-10:15, PM is 10:30-12:15 and Mrs. Grace’s is 8:30-12:30.
Drop off is at the Elk Road entrance via Otsego Road.

Aftercare will be available at Laning from the YMCA until 6 p.m.

There will be a police officer in each building for Election Day. Parent classroom visitations are canceled and all bake sales are canceled.

  1. I know it’s crazy with these 1/2 days and kids going to different places, but it IS working. Our kids are back to a somewhat normal schedule. Thanks to all involved who worked so hard to make this work.
