First Presbyterian Service Update

An update from Rev. Erik Spencer, pastor of First Presbyterian church in Verona:

The church, like so many homes, is still without power. We will have an abbreviated worship service Sunday morning at 10:15. We will devote ourselves to prayer, to lighting All Saints candles in memory of those we have loved and lost, to scripture, to music, and to healing. Christina Turkington will have a program for the children following the lighting of All Saints candles, and I will forego my usual spellbinding sermon. Please pass the word to those without email, and invite any of your friends and neighbors to join us.

Without power we are unable to host our Interfaith Hospitality Network guests. They will be staying at a YMCA in Newark and hopefully will be able to join us when the power comes back on. I’ll keep you posted; please pass the word to those without internet access.

I hope you will be able to join us for worship and fellowship tomorrow morning.
