For the past two winters, the Woman’s Club of Verona and the Verona-Essex Juniorettes have been sponsoring a simple project to foster community unity: Share Your Light Night. Participants purchase a simple luminary kit and set it up along their sidewalk to create a town-wide ribbon of light.

This year’s Share Your Light Night is Saturday, December 10 and representatives of the clubs told the Town Council last night that 450 kits have already been ordered. If you haven’t yet gotten yours, you still can order a kit by downloading this form. The cost of the 10-light kit is $15 and all proceeds go to community service projects.

The lights will be lit at 5 p.m. and are expected to burn for six to eight hours. If there is bad weather that evening, MyVeronaNJ.com will post information on a new lighting plan.
