Our Lady of the Lake School will hold an open house and registration for September 2011 classes on Sunday, January 23, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The open house, which is for students entering preschool through eighth grade, will be repeated on Monday, January 31 from 9 to 11 a.m., and again on Tuesday, February 1, from 9 to 11 a.m.

OLL offers many options for preschool-aged children: Up to five days or through lunch and enrichment until 2:30 p.m. dismissal or aftercare until 6:00 p.m. Our Lady of the Lake School also offers a full-day kindergarten. Children who will be five years old by October 1, 2011 can be registered for kindergarten during this period. The primary grades are self-contained, leading to increased levels of independent thinking in preparation for the departmental programs of the upper grades.

Our Lady of the Lake School is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is a nominee for Blue Ribbon Schools Status. The school is committed to providing quality education in a caring, value-oriented safe environment, where positive moral values are emphasized.

School busing is available for West Orange students and busing reimbursement is available for students from other towns. The school offers before and after-care programs and a variety of extracurricular activities. Computer rooms, internet access, science lab, foreign language instruction, music, art, wellness and physical education programs enhance the curriculum. Students in the upper grades have achieved many awards through participation in the Junior Forensics League (public speaking), volleyball and G.I.L. Basketball League.

On open house days, visitors can see classrooms and talk with teachers about the curriculum and their educational philosophy and goals. For more information, see the school’s Web site or call the office at (973) 239-1160.
