Verona’s Hillbilly wrestling team politely welcomed in the Cedar Grove team yesterday afternoon, and then proceeded to crush them, 51 to 18. It was a strong outing for both Taylor DelColle and Joe Festa. DelColle, a senior who wrestles at 160, drew another long match, but finally succeeded in pinning Cedar Grove’s Mike Botte at the 5:54 mark. Festa, a senior heavyweight, went up against Vin Cordasco and came away with a 12-6 decision.
Fred Goode captured some photos of the action. The Hillbillies, who are 7-2-0 on the season, travel to Glen Ridge tonight for a 6 p.m. match.
