It’s been quite a decade of change on Durrell Street. Ten years ago, the street that runs from Grove Avenue to Fairview Avenue near the Verona Pool was anchored by Charles Bahr & Son, a lumber yard and fuel oil dealership. But in the first week of January 2014, the demolition of those businesses began, opening the way for a burst of residential construction.
The lumber yard is now a clutch of two-story attached townhouses. Near million-dollar homes went up across the street on the site where the oil trucks used to park and, up and town the street, several houses have been remodeled, expanded or even demolished to make way for fancier digs. One of them has come on the market this weekend.
