The Verona Police Department has released a statement that two Essex County many were charged for that and several other burglaries on Monday, December 21. Derrick Williams, 42, of Irvington and Jermaine Williams, 42, of Newark were each charged with multiple counts of burglary, conspiracy, and aggravated assault that were related to a series of overnight burglaries that occurred in Verona between April 27 and May 20of this year.

Five burglaries were reported during that time. The charges against both men involved three of the five burglaries, including the home invasion on Grove Avenue on May 10, a break-in on Woodland Avenue and a burglary on Afterglow Avenue.
