Thanks to the support of the community over the past year, the Junior Women’s Club of Verona will again be able to award three scholarships to deserving high school seniors. Each scholarship is worth $1,000. Applicants must reside in Verona, and be a graduating 2024 high school student.

  • The John T. Riesenman Scholarship – $1,000
  • The Jane Myers Scholarship – $1,000
  • The Junior Women’s Club of Verona Scholarship – $1,000

All three scholarships are for graduating high school seniors who have decided to pursue a form of higher education (two- or four-year college, trade school, or specialty school). The John T. Riesenman scholarship is awarded to the applicant who has demonstrated excellence in their accomplishments and achievements overall. The Jane Myers scholarship is awarded to the applicant who is committed to the arts and planning to major in the arts. The Junior Women’s Club scholarship is awarded to the applicant who has demonstrated commitment to community service and/or charity work.

Awardees will be selected by a committee of Junior Women’s Club volunteers. Applications are reviewed via a blind application process (personal and identifiable characteristics are wiped for committee review). Awardees are announced in June at the Verona High School (VHS) Senior Awards Night. If the awardee does not attend VHS, they will be contacted by a member of the Junior Women’s Club directly.

The application deadline is Friday, May 3, 2024. Late applications will not be accepted. Scholarships are non-renewable.

Download the scholarship application and return the completed application, resume, and essay to Ms. Rivera at the Verona High School guidance office or via email in pdf format to Manya Brachear Pashman at [email protected].

Please check the requirements of the scholarship for which you are applying. You may apply for all three scholarships but separate applications and essays tailored to each scholarship’s purpose are required.
