Verona High School senior Carly Maestas has won first prize for “Spring Awakening”, a landscape painting she entered in Caldwell College‘s annual Teen Arts Jam exhibition. She was one of 17 VHS art students participating the show, which included art from 22 area high schools. Maestas plans to attend Lycoming College in Williamsport, Penn. in the fall, where she will major in studio art. The National Art Honor Society Chapter at VHS will frame Maestas’ painting and permanently display it in the front foyer gallery at the high school.
