The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit will have Ash Wednesday services at 7 a.m., 10:30 a.m. for “Moms and Tots” (2 to 5 year olds), noon, 3:15 p.m. (suitable for 3 to 10 year olds), 5 p.m. (for 9 year olds to teens) and 7 p.m. The church, which is located at 36 Gould Street just opposite the H.B. Whitehorne field, says the worship services for adults (at 7 a.m., noon and 7 p.m.) are solemn and reflective. The services for children and youth provide an opportunity to learn why we receive the ashes and the purpose of the coming season of Lent. The children and youth gather in the church’s Fellowship Hall for the readings and discussion, and then go into the chapel to receive the ashes.
