Delia was born in 1933 in Dublin where she grew up. She moved to the United States with her husband Paddy and their three young children on August 3, 1968. They lived in East Orange and Staten Island before they settled in Verona in 1972, where she lived since.

Delia was a member of the Women of Irish Heritage and the Catholic Daughters.

More than anything, she loved spending time with her family: her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She adored and loved to talk about every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was full of life and enjoyed living it to the fullest; spending time with her friends, attending exercise class, going out for cappuccinos, reading and sharing books, shopping, and luncheons. She would frequently return home to visit family in Ireland, always finding ways to stay connected to loved ones on each side of the ocean.

She is survived by her husband of almost 67 years, Paddy Sheridan, her children, Julia “Sheila” Sheridan and her partner Dennis DeFalco, Alan Sheridan and his fiancé Noreen Dorrian, Marina Doyle and her husband Chuck; her grandchildren, Brendan Naranjo and his wife Laura, Christina Wilson and her husband Aaron, Daniel Naranjo, Catherine Sheridan, Michael Sheridan and his wife Alisa, C.J. Doyle, Tiernan Doyle, Aiden Doyle; her great-grand children, Emmett Naranjo, Monroe Naranjo, Perry Naranjo, and she was looking forward to the birth of her fourth great-grandchild, Tucker Sheridan. She is also survived by her siblings, Thomas McCormack, Vincent McCormack, Brendan McCormack, Catherine Dempsey and her husband Paddy, numerous nieces and nephews in Ireland, England and Wales, and her three very special best friends Kay, Irene, and Florie.
