Sandra Elaine “Sandy” Dennis Van Lieu passed away at the age of 57 on October 26, 2023 in Midlothian, Virginia, after a long illness, with friends and family at her side.
Sandy was born on June 29, 1966 and lived most of her life in New Jersey. She was a graduate of Verona High School, Lehigh University (BA), and University of Tennessee (MBA).
Following in her father’s footsteps, Sandy spent most of her career at Annin Flagmakers. She worked in HR, production planning, purchasing, and eventually served as vice president of sales.
Sandy was the president of the Flag Manufacturers Association of America (FMAA) for many years. She was in charge of coordinating, selecting, and awarding college scholarships from the FMAA as well.
Sandy was a kind and generous daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a bright smile for all and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Sandy is survived by her father, John Dennis; her sisters Sue Tait (Greg) and Pam Dennis (Frank); her nieces and nephews Laura Tait, Emily Eaves (Evan), Aidan Rainjoy (Lucy), Jacob Dennis-Oehling, and Gilbert Dennis; and one great-niece Rita Rainjoy.
Sandy was predeceased by her mother Elaine S. Dennis (2013).
Visitation will be held at the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Ave, Verona, on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 3 to 5 p.m. with a service to follow. Condolences may be left at proutfuneralhome.com.
