Mr. Richard J. Stunis died on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. He was 95 years old.
Graveside services will be held in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Thomas Street, Caldwell on Saturday, September 9 at 9:30 a.m.
Born at home in Belleville, he graduated from Belleville High School and served in the New Jersey National Guard.
Mr. Stunis moved to Verona in 1954 and was active in BSA Troop 2, Verona.
He had a 35-year career as an HVAC field service technician for Honeywell Corporation in Westfield, retiring in 1990.
Mr. Stunis was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (nee Chown) Stunis and is survived by his daughter, Janet Grover (and her husband, George) and his son, William (Bill) Stunis; his grandchildren, Ryan Stunis (and his wife, Krystina), Marie Grover, John Grover and his great granddaughters, Ella Dorothy Grover and Freya Stunis.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
