Mrs. Dorothy (nee Chown) Stunis died on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Greenhill Center in West Orange.

Private graveside services were held on Saturday, October 26 in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Caldwell. Arrangements were by the Prout Funeral Home.

Born in Glen Ridge, Mrs. Stunis grew up in Belleville and moved to Verona 60 years ago.

She has a Bachelors degree from Montclair State University and was a certified professional Secretary. Mrs. Stunis served as a Girl Scout Leader and was active in the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard J. Stunis, her daughter, Janet Grover (and her husband, George) and her son, Bill Stunis. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan Stunis (and his wife, Krystina), Marie Grover, John Grover, her sisters, Jean Kwik and Betty Chase and a great granddaughter, Ella Dorothy Grover.
