Girls Lacrosse Advances To Finals

And they are headed to the finals. Verona High School girls lacrosse handily defeated Kinnelon 13-5 in yesterday’s North Jersey, Group 1 semifinal.

Riley Kenrick scored three goals and 1 assist, while Clara Nippes, Chloe Theilmeier, Jane Sorger, and Bridget Lonsinger contributed two goals each. Julia Dacey and Giada DeLorenzo rounded out the scoring with one each. Nippes also lead in assists, with three. Amanda Cavallo was in goal for Verona and had five saves.

Verona, which is the No. 1 seed, i this year’s playoffs, will now face second-seeded Mountain Lakes, which advanced on a 15-6 win over sixth-seeded Westwood yesterday. The game will be played on Monday, June 5.
