Verona Fights Hunger Week kicks off on Saturday October 15, and here’s what you need to know about the Junior Women’s Club‘s week-long, town-wide food drive to benefit two local food pantries.

Verona Fights Hunger Week is now in its 9th year of delivering donations to the Human Needs Food Pantry in Montclair and Verona’s Holy Spirit Food Pantry, charities that together serve thousands of clients from Verona and surrounding communities. (In 2021, the Human Needs Food Pantry served 4,793 adults, 1,410 children, and 313 seniors in our area.) This work is vital for our community! In the past nine years, Verona has donated over 20,000 bags of food and raised approximately $30,000 in monetary donations.

This year, the drive begins Saturday October 15, and ends on Saturday, October 22, at 9 a.m. with a food collection celebration on the steps of the Verona Town Hall. Anyone is free to attend to help the Juniors load the collected bags into a moving truck and bring them to the food pantries.

The 5 different ways you can support Verona Fights Hunger Week are as follows:
