Walk To School Day went over so well at F.N. Brown Elementary School this year that the elementary school community service group Verona Kids Rock decided that it’s going to encourage walking to school every week this month.

Every week of “Walktober”, Verona Kids Rock will celebrate different themes. Last week, the group celebrated Verona’s emergency services–the Verona Fire Department, the Verona Police Department and the Verona Rescue Squad. Mayor Jack McEvoy attended the walk, as did members of each of the emergency services, in uniform. Emergency service vehicles greeted the walkers upon their arrival at school.
