There’s another winter storm headed our way and Verona public schools have called for an early dismissal at all schools on Wednesday, February 20.

The Pre-K AM classes will run from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m., and the Pre-K PM classes will go from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The Pre-K All Day class, Kindergarten, Grades 1-4 and H.B. Whitehorne Middle School will all operate from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Verona High School will be in session from 8 a.m. to 12:13 p.m.

The Verona Recreation Department has cancelled all programs after 12 p.m. today. The Verona Chamber of Commerce event at Ariane Kitchen & Bar has been postponed to next Wednesday, February 27.

The half day also means that there will be no after-school sports on Wednesday. The VHS girls basketball teams will have their games against Scotch Plans-Fanwood on Thursday beginning at 4 p.m. Boys basketball is having its Senior Night scrambled again. It will host Newark Collegiate on Thursday at 7 p.m. Wrestling’s Regions championship will still be at West Orange High School, but the schedule has shifted to Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has declared a state of emergency on all state roads today.
