The Week Ahead: Feb. 10-16, 2019

It’s a week of big meetings and big sports. Both the Town Council and the Board of Education have meetings this week. The Council’s agenda on Monday will include the rescinding of the settlement agreement with Spectrum 360, which could affect Verona’s ability to meet its affordable housing requirements. Last year, the town government reached an agreement that could have given Verona 120 affordable housing requirements but earlier this month, the Planning Board determined that the Sunset Avenue property did not meet the criteria for an area in need of redevelopment, complicating the agreement.

Sports highlights this week include the Verona-Glen Ridge hockey team playing the Kelly Cup semifinals against Millburn at 8:15 p.m. on Monday at the Codey arena and winter track competing in the Group championship in Tom’s River.
