The event was first created by VHS alumni Mark Riggio, whose own grandmother battled Alzheimer’s. It has been the team’s community service project since 2013.

The event raised $1,170, which will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. A check will be presented at the “Running for Answers” event scheduled for May 4 in Roseland.

If you would like to help the team raise dollars for Alzheimer’s research, you can still make a donation by contacting Heather Riggio at [email protected].
