menorahThe Verona Menorah Lighting will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, the first night of Hanukah, at the Verona Civic Center.

This is a new tradition in town, begun last year after the former Congregation Beth Ahm donated its menorah to Verona. The synagogue closed in May 2017 after eight decades at the corner of Grove and Personnette.

This year’s ceremony will be led by Cantor Marsha Schreier, who served the congregation at Beth Ahm, and Rabbi Robert L. Tobin of B’nai Shalom in West Orange, which welcomed the former members of Beth Ahm. Rabbi Tobin recently participated in Verona’s Interfaith Thanksgiving.

The menorah lighting is open to all residents of Verona.
