Old House, New House, Tree House

EagleRock-TreehouseVerona is a town of mostly old houses: 5 Kenwood Avenue, which is new to the real estate market this weekend, was built 1931, while 135 Park Avenue, a stately colonial, was constructed opposite Verona Park in 1940. But in the current Verona real estate market, many of our older homes are being delivered to new buyers after renovations that make them look new all over again, like 99 Linden Avenue. It was built in 1950, but was just completely redone, inside and out.

And what about the tree house in the headline? We spotted that on the edge of Eagle Rock Reservation and, having read at least half of the 52 Magic Tree House books when the kids were little, a tree house at the edge of a big woods seemed too cool to not be in a photograph. But unlike everything else on this page, it’s not for sale.
