There will be a Rutgers University S.A.F.E.T.Y Clinic for youth sports coaches on Saturday, March 2.
The class is for Verona residents only and will be held at the Verona Community Center, 880 Bloomfield Ave. from 9 a.m. to noon. The three-hour class is mandatory for any prospective coaches in Verona, and the Verona Recreation Department says you need to be there for three full hours to get certification. The certification for the class is good for life and covers all sports.
To attend, you must register with the Rec Department by calling 973-857-4830. Punctuality is important: The Rec Department warns that if you are even one minute late you will be locked out of the session.
