Mr. Guenther Lichtenegger, 75, died on Monday, February 4, 2013 in Glen Ridge. Services will be held in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Wednesday, February 6 at 1 p.m. Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Shiva will be observed at the family residence on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Born in Schwabisch Gmund, Germany, Mr. Lichtenegger came to the United States in 1955 and lived in Nutley, Orange and West Orange prior to moving to Verona in 1980.

He served in the U.S. Army in Europe from 1961 to 1963.

Mr. Lichtenegger was a machinist for Kemp Inc. in Rutherford for 40 years. He was an animal lover, outdoorsman and sport man who loved to travel.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Susan Lippa, his brother-in-law, David (Beth) Lippa, his niece, Jodie (Jon) Herbst, nephews, Michael Roth, Jeffrey (Sarah) Lippa and Jacob Lippa. He is also survived by his cousins Brigitte (Bruno) Lakner, Thomas Lakner and Claudia Lakner.
