Verona View: The Hilltop & Sandy

We’ve seen, all too well, the damage that Hurricane Sandy did to our homes and  street trees, and to the homes, schools and businesses on our Atlantic shoreline. What most of us haven’t seen is that Sandy’s winds also did a number on the Hilltop, the park space on the western side of Verona.  Kevin Hunt did see the damage, and he muscled a few of his buddies, like Dan Robinson, to help clear up the trails on Sunday. It’s today’s “Verona View” and if you haven’t yet hiked the Hilltop (best entrance for now is from Courter Road in North Caldwell) their work might inspire you to explore the trails on foot or by bike this weekend.

“Verona View” is a new daily photo feature from MyVeronaNJ.com that highlights people, places and events in Verona, N.J. Take a photo with your camera phone, DSLR or anything in between and send it in. MyVeronaNJ.com will feature one reader photo every day. To submit your photo, email it, or text it to 973-632-4015, or post it to our Facebook page.
