Graduation 2011

Mother Nature didn’t grant them an outside graduation, but the weather was just one more challenge met and answered for the Verona High School Class of 2011 at its graduation on June 22, 2011.

Though a small class–just 151 of them in all–they were large enough to field a ringing, senior-only chorus to sing the National Anthem. The music teachers they grew up with did, however, have to fill the gaps in the band left by all those in cap and gown. The student speakers–Jody Freinkel, valedictorian; Jack Denton, salutatorian; Alex Sniatkowski, senior class president and Paul Corrente, student council president–urged them to celebrate what they had accomplished at VHS and to prepare to change the future.

Said Denton:  “Go out and make your life something worth retweeting.”

Congratulations to them all:
