The Knights of Columbus of Cedar Grove and Verona will hold its Golf Outing fundraiser on June 14 at Black Bear Golf Club, which is part of the Crystal Springs Resort in Franklin, N.J. Past events have made it possible for the group to donate $5,500 each to the youth groups at St. Catherine of Siena in Cedar Grove and Our Lady of the Lake in Verona. Through the youth groups, Cedar Grove and Verona teens are involved with charitable projects both great and small, from helping out around town to building houses in Appalachia.

“We inaugurated our council’s Golf Outing in 2009, and it was a great success,” said Grand Knight Kevin Brown. “In our first year, we were able to donate $2,500 to each of the parish youth groups. Last year’s event enabled us to raise those donations to $3,000 each. This year, we hope to do even better. My goal is to be able to raise enough to donate $5,000 to each of the youth groups.”

The outing begins with a continental breakfast during registration. A best-ball round of golf keeps the morning moving, with attractions throughout the course. An open bar and buffet lunch rounds out the event, where the day’s prizes and awards are distributed. The events costs $140 per person, and you can download the registration form here.
