OK, maybe they should have started with “March of the Penguins” to help us feel cool, but the outdoor movies at Verona Pool begin Wednesday, July 7 at 8:40 p.m. That gives you plenty of time to go to the Bobby & The Jets concert in town square first.
The first movie is “Air Bud”, a feel-good Disney flick about a dog who can play basketball. On July 14, there will be a screening of “Alvin and the Chipmunks at 8:35 p.m. On Tuesday, July 21, the movie is “Toy Story 2” at 8:30 p.m. (the start time moves up as the days get shorter). The pool will be open to all town residents–not only pool members–from 7 to 10 p.m.
On August 4, the pool will show “Hachi: A Dog’s Tale” at 8:20 p.m. This is a new one for me, but you can read all about it on the Internet movie site IMDB.com. The last movie of the summer is August 11 at 8:15 p.m., Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s “Tooth Fairy”.
The movies are screened on the building at the back of the pool by the basketball courts. Bring something comfortable to sit on and coat the kids in bug spray.
