The Verona Boys’ Tennis team will not be lacking experience this spring.

The Hillbillies bring back their entire starting lineup for the 2010 season and hope to improve upon their 2009 efforts.  Led by Senior Captain Noah Herman, the boys have their sights set on a fantastic year.

Head Coach Stephen Ruggiero has very high aspirations for the team.  He says simply, “We are looking to compete for a North 1 Group 1 State Championship this year.”

The Hillbillies will feature junior Paul Corrente as their go-to guy in first singles, with Mike Streifer and Noah Herman behind him in 2nd and 3rd singles respectively.

Seniors Will Schenkel and Mack Kirby will anchor the boys on the Doubles side with senior Mike Fabrizzio and sophomores Matt Tourto, Brian Farrell, and Josh Solomon rounding out the team.

Competing for the first time in the new Super Essex Conference, the boys open up what should be a very exciting season on April 5 against Bloomfield High School. Check the MyVeronaNJ Calendar page for all the action.
