Garden With A Native Plant Expert

Kathleen Salisbury, the Essex County Parks Department’s horticulturist and president of the Native Plant Society of New Jersey is going to be leading a three-part series on gardening basics at the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland beginning Monday, April 5.

“Gardening 101” will teach participants proper planting and pruning techniques, plant selection, soil preparation and amendments, and how to avoid common landscaping mistakes. You can sign up for just one class or all three, but class size is limited and pre-registration is required. The cost is $8 per class or $20 for all three classes. “Gardening 101” will be held on April 5, 12 and 19. For information, call 973-228-8776.[mappress]
