Varsity Wrestling On Video

Video 37 0 02 00-26The Verona varsity wrestling team has been having a strong season. On Saturday, in a multi-school meet at VHS, Verona beat Mountain Lakes 56-15 and Waldwick 66-13, but lost to Madison 44-22.

There were some great moments in these matches and luckily, we sent one of our Flip cameras to VHS with wrestling mom Sherre Festa to capture the action. We’re posting one video here of Mike Randall’s big win, but there are two others on MyVeronaNJ’s YouTube page.

Verona wrestling’s next home match will be Friday, January 22 at 5 p.m. against Glen Ridge, and the team takes on New Milford at home on January 26, also at 5 p.m. Seeing a match is a great way to introduce budding wrestlers to the sport, and ticket prices definitely qualify it as cheap thrills.

  1. What a nice surprise, I was browsing the website and checked out the Wrestling and got to see my nephew Mike Randall in one of his matches.

  2. Now there’s a Verona family tree we didn’t know about. Glad you liked the video, Connie. We may just have to get more Flip cameras to cover everything that’s happening in town.
