Debra “Debbye” was a loving mother, grandmother, stage actress, artist, and gardener. She collected friends everywhere she went. Debbye grew up in Passaic, New Jersey where she was the apple of her mother and father, Bernice and David’s, eyes along with her aunts who looked after Debbye as if a child of their own. She went to Passaic Senior High School and was a fixture at the YMCA. After high school she attended William Paterson College and later went to Medical Assisting School. Debbye held jobs at companies like Sicpa and Panasonic but preferred dedicating time to family, friends, and passions including the arts and gardening. She also found any excuse to throw a party and loved hosting holidays.

After marrying Louis Fink in 1980, Debbye gave birth to David Fink in 1982. Debbye was an adoring mother and David, her single most cherished gift. Mother was the role she was best cast in. Debbye’s big heart and humor were felt and loved by everyone she met.

Later in life, Debbye stayed active, attending a Jazzersize class every day. She volunteered with the National Council of Jewish Women, where she raised funds and advocated for those in need in the community. Debbye celebrated the marriage of her beloved son David to Pamela. She became Nana Deb in 2016 and welcomed her second grandchild in 2018. Nana Deb cherished time with David, Pamela, Hudson, and Molly.

Debbye’s last years were hindered by a battle with dementia, but her kindness, gentle nature, and love endured. Despite Debbye’s love of flowers, the family suggests donating to the National Council of Jewish Women or the Alzheimer’s Association.

  1. So truly sorry to hear of Debbye’s passing. We were childhood friends from the time she lived on Summer St. In Passaic. As we got older we spent time at the YM-YWHA and going to dances, etc. We graduated together from PHS in 67. Always a very sweet person. Sincerest condolences to her son, daughter in law and grandchildren.

Very sorry to hear of Debbye’s passing. We were next door neighbors for several years on Hillside Avenue. Debbye was pleasant, kind and compassionate and a good neighbor to all. Condolences to David, Pamela and the grandchildren. Healing and Peace.
