Park Tennis Courts Being Revamped For Pickleball

Changes are coming to the Verona Park tennis courts again. The three courts, which were completely resurfaced in 2017, will be closed on March 20 so that one of them can be remodeled for pickleball.

The courts are part of the Essex County Parks system and a spokesman for the county says that the work could take about six months, depending on weather. So he expects that Verona’s pickleball fans won’t be able to play there until September.

The new courts will cover the same footprint as the existing ones, seen here in a photo from 2017. There will be no change to the green space around them.
