The Woman’s Club of Verona recently held the installation of two new club members. Co-President Coni Evans welcomed Joyce Diskant and Jan Zales.
The club, which has existed in Verona for more than a century, supports the Verona Rescue Squad, Fire Department and Library, local food pantries and other community service projects, as well as scholarships for high school seniors. Its chief fundraisers are the town-wide garage sale each fall and the “Share Your Light Night” luminary event in December.
In December, club members held a holiday celebration at Avenue Bistro, one of the many town businesses that supported the “Share Your Light Night” luminary fundraiser. The lead 2023 sponsors of “Share Your Light Night” included Decozen Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Prout Funeral Home, Lynne Mortimer of Coldwell Banker Realty and Alpha Fit Club.
