Mr. Ronald H. Williamson died on Thursday, November 23, 2023 with family at his side. He was 83 years old.

Born in Glen Ridge, Mr. Williamson grew up in Verona, graduating with the Verona High School Class of 1958. In 2014, he was inducted into the Verona High School Hall of Fame as a member of the 1957 soccer team.

He graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA in Business and where he was co-captain of the soccer team and a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

Upon graduating, Ron worked for the University of Maryland Admissions Department in Munich and Heidelberg, Germany, from 1964 to 1967. Returning to the U.S., Mr. Williamson briefly lived in Little Falls, New Jersey before moving to North Caldwell.

He had a long career with Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith as a government bond sales specialist, retiring in 1999. He spent the last 21 years living in Lincoln Park, N.J.

Ron spent many summers with family and friends in Normandy Beach, N.J. He loved travel and attending sporting events, and will be remembered for his incredible generosity, humor, and love of family.

Mr. Williamson is predeceased by his parents, Irving and Grace Williamson and his grandson, Zachary Williamson. He is survived by his partner and best friend, Robin Sperling; his sons, Kenneth Williamson (Janet) and Gregg Williamson (Elena); his brother, Robert Williamson (Madeline); his granddaughter, Margaret Reily Williamson; niece, Robyn and nephews, Joseph and Daniel.

Services and interment are private.

Ron's pacemaker has been donated to My Heart, Your Heart, a project founded to help facilitate the acquisition and delivery of used pacemakers to impoverished populations around the world.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey would be greatly appreciated.
